How do I add affiliate links to my feeds?

Add your affiliate code to automatically display Hello Audio affiliate links across all feeds. Control where links appear and exclude specific feeds.

If you're a Hello Audio user who's also an affiliate, you can turn every feed you create into a passive promotion channel without changing anything about how you publish content. Once configured, your affiliate link automatically appears across show notes, embeddable players, and subscribe pages.

What You'll Accomplish

By the end of this guide, you'll have:

✅ Your affiliate code added to your Hello Audio account

✅ Affiliate links appearing in your chosen locations

✅ The ability to control which feeds show affiliate links

This takes about 5 minutes to set up and works automatically from then on.

Before You Start

You'll need an active Hello Audio affiliate account. If you haven't signed up yet, visit affiliates.helloaudio.fm to apply. New to the program and want to learn more first? See What is the Hello Audio affiliate program?

Step 1: Open Your Affiliate Link Code Settings

In your Hello Audio account, navigate to your account page and find the Affiliate Link Code field. This is the field that controls affiliate link behavior across all your feeds.

Step 2: Add Your Affiliate Code

You have two options:

OPTION A: Auto-load from FirstPromoter

If your Hello Audio account email matches your FirstPromoter email, click Load from FirstPromoter and your code pulls in automatically.

OPTION B: Copy and paste manually

If the emails don't match, log into your FirstPromoter dashboard, copy your affiliate code, and paste it into the Affiliate Link Code field in Hello Audio.

Step 3: Choose Where Your Affiliate Links Appear

You can control exactly where the links show up:

  • In Episode Show Notes
Your affiliate link appears at the bottom of every episode's show notes inside podcast apps. Listeners see it when they view episode details.

  • In Embeddable Players
The "Hello Audio" text in your embeddable players links to your affiliate URL instead of the standard Hello Audio homepage.

  • On Subscribe Pages
Your affiliate link appears under the app selection buttons on the subscribe page listeners receive via email.

Step 4: Customize Individual Feeds (Optional)

Want to exclude affiliate links from specific feeds (for example, a feed delivered to clients who already pay you)? You can control this on a per-feed basis:

  1. Go to the feed you want to modify

  2. Click Edit Feed Properties

  3. Check the Suppress Affiliate Links for this feed box

  4. Save your changes

This removes affiliate links from all locations for that specific feed while keeping them active on your other feeds.

What Happens Next

Once you save your settings, your affiliate links automatically appear in the locations you selected. New episodes and feeds include your affiliate links without any additional setup.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

My affiliate code isn't loading automatically

Make sure your Hello Audio account email exactly matches your FirstPromoter email address. If they don't match, use the manual copy-paste method in Option B above.

I don't see my affiliate links appearing

After adding your code, it may take a few minutes to appear across all locations. Refresh your feed or check a new episode to see the changes.

I want to remove affiliate links from all feeds

Delete the content in your Affiliate Link Code field and save. This removes affiliate links from all feeds and locations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I earn commissions on my own Hello Audio subscription?

No. Self-referrals are excluded from the affiliate program; commissions are only earned on new customer referrals.

Can I use different affiliate codes for different feeds?

The affiliate code applies account-wide. To exclude specific feeds, use the Suppress Affiliate Links option in individual feed settings (see Step 4).

Will my listeners know these are affiliate links?

The links appear as standard Hello Audio branding. If your audience or local regulations require disclosure, add it in your episode descriptions or show notes.

How long does it take for affiliate links to appear?

Changes typically appear within a few minutes of saving your settings.

Can I track which feeds generate the most affiliate clicks?

Detailed click tracking is available in your FirstPromoter dashboard, where you can see referral sources and conversion data.
