βœ… Learned how to fix common Spotify access issues

This usually takes just a few minutes once you know the right steps.

Important Note About Spotify Availability

Not all private podcasts are available on Spotify. Due to complex technical requirements, Spotify private podcast integration is only offered by a select few hosting platforms. Hello Audio is one of the only platforms that supports this feature.

If you don't see a Spotify button on your invitation page:

  • Your creator's hosting platform doesn't support Spotify integration

  • You'll need to choose a different podcast app from the available options

  • Consider asking your creator about switching to a platform that supports Spotify

If your creator uses Hello Audio but you don't see Spotify as an option: Your creator may have chosen not to enable Spotify for their feed. Due to some Spotify limitations, it's not enabled by default for all Hello Audio feeds. You can ask your creator if they'd be willing to add Spotify support. They can easily enable it in their settings.

Step 1: Subscribe Using the Access Code Method

If you see a Spotify button on your invitation page:

  1. Copy the access code that appears on your invitation page

  2. Click "Subscribe" button to view the private feed on Spotify

  3. Click the lock icon on one of the episodes

  4. Select "Get Access" or "Let's Go"

First-Time Setup (If This Is Your First Private Podcast on This Platform)

  1. Link your Spotify account when prompted. This connects your Spotify to the private podcast system

  2. Enter the email address you used to sign up for this feed (this doesn't need to match your Spotify account email)

  3. Paste the access code you copied in step 1

  4. Click to unlock the content

For Returning Users

  1. Enter your email address (the one associated with your private podcast access)

  2. Paste the access code you copied in step 1

  3. Click to unlock the content

Step 2: Finding Your Episodes

After successful access:

  1. Spotify will show a success message and link back to the feed

  2. Click "Follow" to be notified when new episodes are released

  3. Your private podcast will appear in your Spotify library alongside your other shows

  4. Episodes are ready to stream just like any other podcast

What Happens Next

  • Your private podcast appears in your Spotify library with your other shows

  • New episodes will appear automatically as they're released

  • You'll get notifications (if enabled) when new content is available

  • You can listen on any device where you're logged into Spotify

Troubleshooting Common Spotify Issues

"I don't see a Spotify button on my invitation page"

This could mean:

  • Your creator's hosting platform doesn't support Spotify integration (most don't)

  • If they use Hello Audio, they may not have enabled Spotify for this particular feed

What you can do:

  • Ask your creator if they can add Spotify support

  • If they don't use Hello Audio or other supported platform, suggest they consider switching to one that supports Spotify

  • Choose a different podcast app from the available options

"Success message appears but the locked symbol is still showing"

This is a known Spotify sync issue. Try these solutions in order:

Solution 1: Log out and back in

  1. Log out of your Spotify account completely

  2. Log back in and check if the feed is now unlocked

Solution 2: Unlink and reconnect

  1. Click "Unlink" next to the private podcast platform name

  2. Return to your invitation page and repeat the access code process

"The access code isn't working"

  • Make sure you copied the entire code with no extra spaces

  • Check that you're using the correct email address (the one you used to sign up for the podcast), also with no extra spaces at the beginning or end

  • Verify the invitation link hasn't expired - contact your creator for a fresh link if needed

"Spotify says the podcast is unavailable"

  • Confirm you're logged into the same Spotify account you used during setup

  • Check that the private podcast is still active by contacting your creator

  • Try the unlink/reconnect process described above

"I'm getting a 404 error"

This usually means your invitation link has expired. Contact your podcast creator to reactivate your access, then try the process again.

"How do I get the episodes to play in the correct order?"

Most podcast apps show newest episodes first, but you might want to start from the beginning:

  1. Open the podcast and scroll down to the episodes section

  2. Tap the "Sort" dropdown (near the top right)

  3. Choose "Oldest to Newest"
