Heading to a Hello Audio coaching call or live event for the first time? You'll join us in Riverside, a browser-based studio tool we use to host live sessions. Here's what to expect, including how to ask a question on camera or follow along from Facebook or YouTube if that's easier.
New to Hello Audio? Coaching calls are for existing members ready for deeper strategy and topic-driven sessions. If you're brand-new or still exploring a trial, our free Getting Started Call could be a better starting point. It's a 30-minute small-group Zoom session covering how to create and launch your first feed and is hosted weekly (which means you don't have to wait for the monthly call to get help).
What You'll Accomplish
By the end of this guide, you'll have:
✅ Joined a Hello Audio coaching call or event in Riverside
✅ Known when to use Chrome or Edge on a computer (and when your phone is fine)
✅ Asked a question on camera if you want to participate live
✅ Watched live on Facebook or YouTube as a backup, or caught the replay later
✅ Solved common joining issues like browser errors or audio problems
This takes about 2 minutes to read, and you'll know exactly what to do before your next call.
Where to find the event link
We share Riverside links to upcoming events in three places:
Email
Our private Facebook group
Our weekly newsletter
Check whichever you usually read closer to the event start time, and click the link to enter the studio. There's nothing to install.
If you'd like to subscribe to our events so you don't miss any, click here.
Step 1: Choose your device
You can join from a computer or a phone.
Computer: Use Chrome, Safari, or Edge. If you want to ask a question on camera during the event (live call-in), you'll need Chrome or Edge specifically. This is a Riverside constraint, not ours.
Phone: Download the Riverside mobile app ahead of time. You can watch and participate in the chat from your phone, but you can't request a live call-in from there.
You don't have to decide in advance. If you join on your phone and then realize you want to ask a question live, you can switch over to a laptop and re-enter through the same link.
Step 2: Join the studio
Follow the flow that matches the device you picked.
From a computer
Using Chrome, Safari, or Edge, click the invite link from email, the Facebook group, or the newsletter.
Type your name in the chat panel and click Enter chat to join the studio.
From a phone
You'll need the Riverside mobile app to join from a phone. Download it here before the event starts so you're ready.
On your phone, tap the invite link. You'll be redirected to the Riverside mobile app.
Enter your name.
In the top right corner, tap Join.
You're now in the studio as an audience member. You'll see the host and any guests on your screen, plus a chat panel where you can talk with everyone watching.
For Riverside's own walkthrough on both of these options, see their guide on joining a studio as an audience member.
Step 3: Participate in the chat
Once you're in, the chat panel is the easiest way to participate. Everyone in the studio (host, guests, and other audience members) can see your messages. Use it to drop questions, share context, or react to what's happening on the call.
If you'd rather only listen and watch, that's completely fine too. There's no expectation to chat.
Step 4: (Optional) Ask a question on camera
If you want to ask a question live and be recorded, you can request a live call-in. This pulls you into the studio temporarily so the host can see and hear you.
From your studio view (on Chrome or Edge, on a computer), click Request live call-in.
Connect your mic and camera when prompted.
Add your name and a short note about your question.
The host or producer accepts your request, and you'll appear on screen.
When you're done, you can click Leave to step back out of the studio and return to the audience.
For Riverside's full walkthrough, see their live call-in overview.
Can't make it into Riverside? Watch on Facebook or YouTube
For most coaching calls and events, we also stream live to:
Our private Facebook group (members only)
Our YouTube channel
These are great if Riverside isn't cooperating, you're on a device that doesn't support it, or you'd rather watch passively. A moderator watches the Facebook and YouTube chats during events, so you can still ask questions from either stream and we'll bring them to the host. The trade-off is you won't see the in-studio Riverside chat between other audience members, and you can't request a live call-in to come on camera from these streams.
What Happens Next
Most coaching calls are recorded, and we share the replay in a few formats so you can consume it the way that fits your life:
Audio (recommended): Subscribe to our Coaching Call private podcast and replays show up as new episodes in your favorite podcast app. Listen on a walk, in the car, while you're cooking. Subscribe to the Coaching Call podcast.
Video on YouTube: The live stream automatically becomes a replay on our channel as soon as the event ends. You'll find it under our live playlist.
Video on Facebook: The live stream stays in our private Facebook group as a post for about 30 days, then comes down.
If you couldn't make it live, the audio version is the most reliable catch-up option!
Troubleshooting Common Issues
"Studio isn't live yet" or "Live stream locked"
The host hasn't started the session yet, or the start was pushed back a few minutes. Refresh the page once the scheduled start time has passed. If you're still locked out 10 minutes after the listed start, message us or check the Facebook group for an update.
"Safari update required"
Riverside needs a recent version of Safari to work. The fastest fix is switching to Chrome or Edge (and on a computer, that's also what you need for live call-in).
I can't see the "Request live call-in" button
You're likely on a phone, on Safari, or on a browser other than Chrome or Edge. Switch to Chrome or Edge on a computer and re-enter through the same link, and the option will appear.
My audio or video isn't working
Check that your browser has permission to use your camera and mic (the address bar will show a small icon if access is blocked). Riverside has a full troubleshooting guide for guests and audience members if the basics don't fix it.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between Coaching Calls and the Getting Started Call?
Coaching Calls are for existing members who want deeper strategy, advanced tips, and topic-driven discussions. They run weekly in Riverside. Our Getting Started Call is for new and trial users learning the basics. It's a free 30-minute Zoom session held every Tuesday. If you haven't launched your first feed yet, the Getting Started Call might be a better starting point.
Do I need a Riverside account to join?
No. Click the link, type your name, and you're in. No account, no download, nothing to install.
Can I join from my phone?
Yes. You'll need to download the Riverside mobile app first, then tap the invite link to be redirected into the app. The one thing you can't do from a phone is request a live call-in to ask a question on camera. That requires a computer using Chrome or Edge.
Will the call be recorded?
Yes, most coaching calls and events are recorded. We share the audio replay through our Coaching Call private podcast and video replays on YouTube and Facebook. See "What Happens Next" above for the links.
What if I can't attend live?
Catch the replay. You can listen to it as a private podcast episode (best for on-the-go) or watch the video on YouTube or Facebook. See "What Happens Next" for the links.
Can I submit a question if I can't attend live?
Yes. If you've got a question but can't make the live session, fill out our pre-event question form and we'll answer it on the call. We will read your question aloud, and you can catch the answer in the replay (audio or video).
Do I have to be on camera or use my mic?
Not at all. As an audience member, you're not recorded by default and you don't have to turn on your camera or mic. You only appear on screen if you actively request a live call-in and the host accepts.
What if the event isn't streamed to Facebook or YouTube?
That happens occasionally when tech doesn't cooperate. When this happens, joining through the Riverside link is the only way in for that event. We'll flag it via email or in the Facebook group.
