Connecting a Stripe Account

The Hello Audio signup page can be used to collect payments for access to feeds. This requires connecting a Stripe account to your Hello Audio account. You can read more about using the signup page here.

Connect your stripe account by visiting https://app.helloaudio.fm/integrations and clicking "Connect Stripe".

It will ask for your email address to log into Stripe. If you use Stripe in your business already, you can use the same email address and login to access your Hello Audio dashboard. It will pull the business information you've already provided.

If you're creating a Stripe account for the first time, Stripe will ask for business information to set up the account. You'll need to provide entity name and tax ID, as well as a bank account for payouts.

When connecting the Stripe account to Hello Audio, you'll be asked what you're selling and how you deliver the content. The following should be correct, but adjust as you see fit for your business offerings.

  • Consumers

  • Digital goods

  • Immediately accessible

Once connected, the integration page will now link to your Account Dashboard. Or you can visit it by logging into Stripe directly at https://dashboard.stripe.com/


Using the Stripe Dashboard

Clicking on "Access Stripe Dashboard" from within your account will take you directly to your Stripe page for Hello Audio purchases.

If, instead, you log in to Stripe and see your other dashboard, you can change to the Hello Audio one by clicking the top-left inside Stripe and choosing the Hello Audio connected account. When selected, it will show a small Hello Audio logo along with text under your Stripe name.

Your Hello Audio dashboard is specific to Hello Audio customers, payments, and subscriptions. Visit this to manage your listeners payment subscriptions, offer refunds, or change billing information.

Click Customers at the top, then click their subscription to make changes or cancel. Click on a payment to offer a full or partial refund.


Emailing Receipts

You can setup automatic emails for receipts in your Stripe account at https://dashboard.stripe.com/account/emails

There, you'll find additional options for emailing customers as well. Be sure to click Save at the bottom of that page! It's easy to miss.


Fees and Currencies

You can set the currency at the payment option level. Any currency that's different from you Stripe account currency will be exchanged at the time of payment to your Stripe currency.

Available Currencies

USD, CAD, GBP, EUR, AUD, NZD, MXN, SEK, SGD, NOK, DKK, CHF, HUF, ILS, BRL, THB, TWD, CZK, MYR, PLN, PHP, TRY, HKD, INR, JPY.

Application Fees

Stripe fees are 2.9%+$0.30 per transaction for all users.

Hello Audio application fees vary by the user's plan:

  • Starter: 5%

  • Pro: 2%

  • Powerhouse: 0%


Troubleshooting

Stripe often requires you to agree to additional terms after initially setting up your account. If you're receiving "Payment did not go through" even with valid payments, or an error when saving a pricing option, you may need to visit https://dashboard.stripe.com/account/status

This link will show any tasks required to be completed by you. It may show that your Stripe account is restricted until completing these tasks. The image below is Stripe's dashboard for completing tasks.

Once completed, you should be able to set prices and collect payment as expected.
